Meet Our Interpreters

As you’ll have guessed by now, a BSLISScotland interpreter is a bit special. You will usually find one in a doctor’s surgery or hospital, at a job interview, an organisation’s staff meeting, or in a college or university classroom. BSLISScotland interpreters can also be found in more unusual and exotic settings from time to time. For example, in Italy’s Coliseum while interpreting for a tour guide, or on top of a 2,500 metre mountain in Slovakia, while using international sign language in support of young Deaf people participating in a cultural exchange programme. However, you may find a BSLISScotland interpreter in less exotic locations, such as in a swimming pool in Govan during a water survival training programme! It is fair to say that our intrepid interpreters have a tendency to gain useful experience in a wide variety of settings.
